Your Task
The Great Gatsby is a novel focused on culture, connection, and consumerism. We're going to use these three features to adapt the social realm of the novel to our modern modes of social interaction. Keeping our projects historically accurate and relevant, we will first take on the persona of F. Scott Fitzgerald to build a Facebook account that he might have had in the 1920s were the technology available. Then, staying true to the content of The Great Gatsby, we will be creating Twitter accounts for Nick, Gatsby, Daisy, and Tom to demonstrate our understanding of the characters individually and how they relate to each other. Finally, we will be locating and analyzing significant passages from the novel to use as Instagram captions for historical photographs from the Jazz Age to show our interpretation of The Great Gatsby in direct relation to the time period. Click on the boxes below to see a step-by-step breakdown of each day.
All daily assignments and tasks will be completed individually and a final product (Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter) will be submitted or posted as a group presentation.
